ASTM F3140: Standard Test Method for Cyclic Fatigue Testing of Metal Tibial Tray Components of Unicondylar Knee Joint Replacements
This test method covers a procedure for the fatigue testing of metallic tibial trays used in partial knee joint replacements. Testing is applicable for both the medial and lateral plateau of the tibia. For testing, the tibial tray is supported locally at the anterior and posterior side and loaded centrally by a spherical indenter. The suggested number of cycles is 10 million at a test frequency of 20 Hz or less.
