Implant system testing – Development of a method for testing and simulation of ostheosynthesis systems under realistic and physiological test conditions

Testing and simulation of ostheosynthesis systems

Abstract

In this project a test procedure for the numerical and mechanical testing of implant systems is being developed. Physiologically realistic load collectives are determined by means of a complex algorithm for the classification of implants using suitable measurable implant parameters, transferred to simulations of the mechanical load capacity as well as necessary geometrical and material dimensions of the implants and verified by means of test setups for the physiological testing of implant systems in static and dynamic loading cases with combined bending and torsional loading.
