ASTM F2722: Standard Practice for Evaluating Mobile Bearing Knee Tibial Baseplate Rotational Stops
This practice covers a laboratory-based in vitro method for evaluating the mechanical performance of mobile bearing knee designs and their ability to maintain the integrity of the rotational stop feature.
The test is restricted to implants providing a rotational stop within 20° of rotation in internal or external direction. A maximum torque of 14 Nm is applied up to 220 000 cycles or implant failure.
