To date, there is no test standard for wear testing of CMC joint prostheses available. Loads are much smaller than the loads acting in the hip joint and required an improvement of the control and responsiveness of the load actuators of the EndoLab® joint simulator. The load actuators usually used for testing hip joint prostheses were replaced by actuators especially designed for smaller load levels. Thus, testing of the CMC joint prosthesis has been performed successfully. Once again, EndoLab® demonstrated its ability and flexibility to adjust existing test equipment to our customers’ specific testing needs.
